When I first started to learn the steps to the song Thriller i thought that i looked silly dancing without music. My first thought when dancing with no music was that it wasn't going to be fun, but once everyone got the steps down on point it was fun to see us all do it. Learning the dance without music helped me listen to the teacher say the steps out loud. That was helpful because i knew what steps were next and kept me on track. So basically learning the steps to the song Thriller without the music was a fun, helpful, and entertaining experience.
View ofprofessional dancer
Now that I know what it takes to learn a choreographed dance i have a whole different view of professional dancers. At first, I thought they just leaned the steps and rhythm, but they also have to work on more than just that. They have to work on their facial expressions, and their timing on their steps. I see them as people who work hard on their job, I know they put a lot of mental strength into memorizing the dance and they need to have rhythm, which isn't something easy to have. That is how my view on professional dancers changed over the time i learned Thriller.
Dancing with the music
When I finally started to dance with the music I felt confused at first, because I wasn't familiar with the rhythm. After I got the rhythm and knew what steps happened on what beats, I knew what I was doing. While dancing Thriller with the music i had lots of fun, bur the dance move "Wuz up" was one of my least favorite steps. It was my least favorite step because I didn't like the way it felt and looked when having to do the move. My experience when i danced the choreography to Thriller was fun and very challenging.
